The Will of God Abideth Forever

In my reading this morning, I came across these few verses...(I'm sure y'all know these verses, maybe even by heart!) "Love not the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."                              - 1 John 2:15-17 Can I just stop and say, "Wow...what amazing verses!" I can't tell you how many friends that I had that have turned to the "things that are in the world" instead of serving God. To go even further....I can't tell you how many pastor's kids I know that have turned to the world instead of God. What a sad truth. One of my friends got saved about two years ago. That day was amazing; you could tell the Lord h

Diligently

Today's Bible reading was in Hebrews, specifically chapter 11, the "Hall of Faith" as some call it. Wow! What an amazing chapter in the Bible! There is so much truth that we can learn from these great men and women of faith. Such as Moses,                   "Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God,than to enjoy the                                                                            pleasures of sin for a season." Or maybe Abraham who,"obeyed; and went out, not knowing whither he went."  The list could go on and on. What great lessons of faith! *On a side note, take a look at the end of the chapter. Verse 32-40. There is a list of things that great men and women suffered because they wouldn't give in to Satan. They suffered so much, but they still had faith. If I were in that situation, would I have faith just like them? How convicting, right?!* Anyway, back to the topic at hand :) There was one verse this morning

Hurry up, God!

Yes, as a 19-year-old, I am patiently (or at least trying to be patient) waiting for the One that God has for me. If you are a teen or young adult reading this, you may be thinking the same exact thing.                             What's that old quote..."great minds think alike"? Wow! We have great minds! :) During this waiting time, it is so easy to get impatient or to think, "Hurry up God! My life is flying by me!" It's easy to get frustrated with God's timing. Sometimes it can even be easy to think that there isn't one out there for me. Maybe God just wants me to stay single for the rest of my life. Maybe I will end up being that old spinster with 30 cats (that is definitely not a nice thought). You know what...maybe I should just go with the next guy that comes along, whether he is God's will or not. Whoa!! Stop just a sec. Let's talk about this. Trust me...I have been there, thinking those thoughts, being impatient, just like you.

You Made It!

Hey y'all! I am so happy and honored that you are here!   Have you ever come across something in your Bible reading or sermons you listened to that you just had to write down? Me too! (We are so much alike, right?! ;)  My purpose for this blog is to write down my thoughts from my devos, from messages, and just from some random things the Lord has spoken to me about. There is so much God has shared with me and I don't want to keep it all to myself! I hope that something the Lord has spoken to my heart about can encourage your hearts as well. I'm not here to disagree or to debate, but to simply write down what God has shared with me through His Word. (No, I am not preaching....I'll leave that job to my pastor.;) But! If I can be of some help or encouragement to other pastor's kids, then that is my ultimate goal here.  So! Here we go...grab a cup of sweet tea (my favorite!)....maybe even a cookie or two.....read.....and enjoy!
